👋 Introduction

Welcome to Arkham 101. Filters allow you to sort & present data across Arkham by specific parameters, including Time, Party, Counterparty, Token Type, Token Amount & USD Value.

At present, you can filter data on the Profile Page for each entity/address, the Visualizer, and you can build Dashboards & Alerts using Arkham filters. This guide will demonstrate how to setup & customize filters & why they will be useful in your research. It will focus on examples through the Profile Page & Visualizer to illustrate this.

❓ How to Filter - Homepage

Let’s get started with an example. For this exercise, we’re going to be looking at Arkham’s custom entity, B. Wayne.

Notice that, in the bottom right quadrant, there are three tabs on top of the table of transactions: Transactions, Inflow, and Outflow. Let’s say we’re curious about Mr Wayne’s biggest inflow transactions. Click on the second tab titled “Inflow” to first display all of the transactions in which Wayne received funds.

Then, click on “USD” in the top right of the table (the actual USD label, not the filter icon). You should now see the inflow transactions ordered from largest USD amount at the top, to smallest USD amount at the bottom.

Wow – using the filters, we discovered a bunch of $4M+ transactions! Next, let’s try a more specific query.

Let’s say we want to explore Mr. Wayne’s oldest and largest ETH transactions. The price of ETH has changed massively over the past few years, but we’re interested in finding a large amount of ETH, irrespective of its price at the time.

If we want to find the earliest and largest ETH transactions, we would first filter by token type - and type in ETH or Ethereum.
